Born in Pahokee, Florida, on March 20, 1958, Rickey Anderson Jackson became one of the NFL’s top linebackers. He played for the New Orleans Saints from 1981 to 1993 and the San Francisco 49ers in 1994 and 1995. Jackson helped lead the Saints’ “Dome Patrol,” a standout linebacker group, and was a key player in their defense. He won a Super Bowl with the 49ers in 1994. Jackson was named to six Pro Bowls and earned multiple All-Pro selections. His career ended with 136 sacks and numerous defensive records. In 2010, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Jackson’s football journey began in Pahokee, where he excelled at Pahokee High School, earning the nickname “City Champ.” His achievements in football, combined with his roots in Pahokee, have cemented his legacy as a football legend.
