2021 has 7.4% of Highlands County residents unemployed

Highlands County recorded an unemployment rate of 7.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 2,722 people out of the 101,174 living in Highlands County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Highlands County has decreased compared to the 8.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Highlands County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Everyone who had a job at the time belonged to the civilian labor force.
