Hendry County School District had a decrease in student enrollment during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Florida Department of Education. Overall, there was a total of 13,859 students enrolled in the district in the academic year.

Data reveals that the majority of students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year were Hispanic, representing 52.2% of the Hendry County School District total enrollment.

Additionally, the largest portion of students in the district are enrolled in elementary school grades, making up 37.1% of the total enrollment.

Hendry County School District covers 13 schools within Hendry County, with its main office in Labelle.

Among the 13 schools in Hendry County School District, Digital Academy of Florida recorded the highest enrollment of 6,396 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In 2022, Florida had more than 2.8 million students enrolled in a total of 4,202 schools. There were 163,558 teachers in the public schools, or roughly one teacher for every 17 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.

Private school enrolment increased by more than 51,000 students in the 2021-22 school year, which was a notable rebound after the pandemic. In total, there were 416,084 students enrolled, marking the highest enrollment in private schools reported by the Florida Department of Education in 30 years.
