The Economic Council of Okeechobee is seeking a self-starting, highly organized Executive Director to lead our membership organization!
The successful candidate must possess strong organizational, verbal and written communications skills, and must be able to work with a minimum of supervision. A college degree or work related experience is required.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring of local government and political matters, and subsequent reporting to Economic Council membership through proactive review of public meeting materials, dissemination of materials, and recommendations for items of specific interest to the Board of Directors and general membership of the Council
- Management of all administrative tasks as they relate to the function of the Council, including but not limited to the management of any relevant insurances, bookkeeping, and membership reports
- General correspondence with membership relative to current events and Council initiatives
- Coordination of membership meetings and special events corresponding with the priorities of the Council
- Compilation and distribution of impact reports, legislative reports, or other initiative reports according to Council objectives
- Provision of all other professional materials representing the Council
- Professional representation of the Council in public meetings and other community settings
- Drafting of any official statements from the Board Chairman or Board of Directors
- Research, organization, public promotion and overall general management of public campaigns launched by the Council
- Professional online brand management, including upkeep of all website content, and management of all social media accounts and other digital platforms upon which the Council is represented
