“Back-To-School” Sales Tax Holiday

This year’s “back-to-school” sales tax holiday is happening now and ends Sunday, Aug. 7. 

Stock up on things you may need for the upcoming school year.

Here are some items you will be able to purchase without paying sales tax:

• clothing, footwear, and backpacks costing $100 or less

• school supplies costing $50 or less

• learning aids like electronic books, flashcards, and toys that reach reading or math skills costing $30 or less

• the first $1,000 of the sales tax price of personal computers or personal computer-related accessories
