Okeechobee City issued the following announcement on September 1.
Mayor Dowling Watford was honored with an MVP Award from the 17th Congressional District and was recognized by Congressman Greg Steube as an unsung hero for displaying extraordinary dedication to our community. As a recipient of this award and thanks for the hard work Mayor Watford has demonstrated, a flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol and publicly recognized in the District’s weekly newsletter. Congratulations to our beloved Mayor who is so deserving of this esteemed award.
