Economic Council of Okeechobee issued the following announcement on August 20.
Our local healthcare experts are reporting that the current amount and severity of the COVID-19 cases are the worst they've seen since the pandemic started.
Kathy Selby, Director of Emergency Services at Raulerson Hospital says it plainly,
"We need help from the community to get control of this disease right now."
Selby says to use hand sanitizer, wear a mask, and get vaccinated.
"It's the number one thing you can do to protect yourself, and to protect those you love and your community."
