Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles issued the following announcement July 30.
For the safety of children and pets, NEVER leave them unattended in a vehicle, even for a short time period.
Hundreds of pets die each year from heat exhaustion when left in vehicles. If you see a child, pet, or vulnerable adult locked in a hot car, immediately call 911.
