Okeechobee County Parks and Recreation issued the following announcement on July 13.
Today 35 campers from the Gifted and Talented summer school program met with the Design Engineers from Aquatic Design Systems to talk about creating their very own splash pad! This is the firm that was selected to design and construct the new splash pad at the Sports Complex! Alex with Aquatic Design is hoping to use some of the ideas from our junior engineers to incorporate in the design. Campers also spent time with Park staff talking about the construction of playgrounds. Our local Health Department graciously loaned two wheel chairs so the campers could understand the challenges that go with ensuring accessability for ALL abilities!
